A Missing Story: Dialogue Between US and Russian Women (with Nadezda Azhgikhina)

Journalist, writer, activist, and director of PEN Moscow Nadezda Azhgikhina will share her experience as a feminist leader of the 1990s, Russian editor of Russian-American feminist magazine Wyi I Myi ( You and We), and part of the independent women’s movement in the former Soviet Union. She will speak about gender issues in the Russian mainstream media and achievements of dialogue between Russian and American women in academia and human rights, including combating domestic violence and all forms of discrimination, and the role of peace dialogue and peace activities in this cooperation. She will also present an overall picture of gender issues in Russian public discussion.
