Join the Space Policy Institute and the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (IERES) at George Washington University on November 12th for an off-the-record conversation with Director Sarah Tarry of the Defense Policy and Capabilities Directorate (DPCD) at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Learn about NATO’s approach to competition in space, how NATO is responding to the weaponization of space assets by China and Russia and much more. There will be a Q&A portion of the event, as well.

Sarah Tarry is Director of the Defence Policy and Capabilities Directorate (DPCD) at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Brussels since November 2018. At NATO, she previously held the positions of Section Head of Operational Preparedness in the Operations Division for two years and of Policy Officer within DPCD from 2009 to 2012. Sarah came to NATO with a strong background in transatlantic affairs, having held the positions of Deputy Director of NATO Policy at the Canadian Department of National Defence (2007-2008) and of Defence Policy Advisor at the Canadian Joint Delegation to NATO (2008-2009). From 2012 to 2015, Sarah also held the position of Deputy Director of Peacekeeping Policy at the Canadian Department of National Defence, helping to shape Canada’s strong diplomatic engagement worldwide. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Calgary, and a M.A. in Political Science from Dalhousie University.
