Join Georgetown's Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies for a talk with Georgy Toloraya on peace, security and diplomacy on the Korean Peninsula. Dr. Toloraya is a Russian diplomat and academic with decades of experience in Korean affairs, having served two postings in North Korea, then in South Korea as a deputy chief of the Russian Embassy and later as the senior Russian Foreign Ministry official (deputy director-general) in charge of the Korean Peninsula. He was also a visiting fellow at the Brookings Institution. He now works for the Russian World Presidential Foundation in Moscow as department chief in charge of Asia, is the national coordinator for CSCAP Russia and is the director of Korean research at the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. A light reception will follow Dr. Toloraya’s lecture.
