The foreign intelligence services of the Soviet Union and other Warsaw Pact countries pursued a wide range of active measures and covert operations during the Cold War. They sought to undermine Western interests, promote far-left radical movements around the world, and bolster the global influence of the Soviet Union. This seminar focuses on the clandestine activities of Soviet-bloc intelligence services from the late 1960s through the late 1980s.
