Russia’s war against Ukraine entered its fifth year. The effects of the war in the two countries cannot be fully assessed until the conflict ends, but at this point, there is no doubt that four years of warfare — the largest European conflict since 1945 — have produced far-reaching changes in the Russian Federation, Ukraine, and Western organizations. 

This two-day workshop focuses on the changes the war has already brought in Russia in four crucial areas: (1) politics and ideology; (2) the armed forces and state security organs; (3) the economy; and (4) demography and population movements. Lead-off speakers will discuss the nature of these changes, and their presentations will be reviewed by designated commentators, who will then debate them in open sessions with the online audience. 

The second part of the workshop, on  April  23rd, will close with a 30-minute wrap-up discussion.
